Traditionally, lasers and other skin resurfacing procedures have resulted in dark or light discolorations on ethnic skin and women of color. Asian skin, Indian skin, Middle Eastern Skin and African American skin were particularly prone to pigmentation problems with older laser treatments.
However, we have vast experience using the Fractora RF device on skin of darker and tanned color without discoloration or other complications. This makes it an ideal procedure for darker skinned patients who have previously been unable to find appropriate treatment methods for skin tightening, skin resurfacing, skin discoloration correction, and acne and acne scars.
Microneedling For

When done properly microneedling is both safe and effective for patients with deeper or darker skin tones. It is a misconception that microneedling treatment should be avoided by people with dark skin.
In reality, microneedling is a non-ablative skin treatment – meaning there is no removal of the epidermis (outer layer of skin). So it is actually a great treatment for many dermatological conditions common among dark-skinned people, including: Periorbital Melanosis; Acne vulgaris; Melasma; Varicella Scarring; Primary Hyperhidrosis; and Actinic Keratosis.
