ETHNIC SKINCARE TREATMENTS
Fractora For
Darker Skin Tones
At Serenity Health Med Spa in Canton, MI we offer advanced Fractora radiofrequency skin treatment technology that it is safe for all skin colors – from the lightest to the darkest.
Traditionally, lasers and other skin resurfacing procedures have resulted in dark or light discolorations on ethnic skin and women of color. Asian skin, Indian skin, Middle Eastern Skin and African American skin were particularly prone to pigmentation problems with older laser treatments.
However, we have vast experience using the Fractora RF device on skin of darker and tanned color without discoloration or other complications. This makes it an ideal procedure for darker skinned patients who have previously been unable to find appropriate treatment methods for skin tightening, skin resurfacing, skin discoloration correction, and acne and acne scars.
Microneedling For
Darker Skin Tones
When done properly microneedling is both safe and effective for patients with deeper or darker skin tones. It is a misconception that microneedling treatment should be avoided by people with dark skin.
In reality, microneedling is a non-ablative skin treatment – meaning there is no removal of the epidermis (outer layer of skin). So it is actually a great treatment for many dermatological conditions common among dark-skinned people, including: Periorbital Melanosis; Acne vulgaris; Melasma; Varicella Scarring; Primary Hyperhidrosis; and Actinic Keratosis.
At Serenity Health Med Spa in Canton, Mi we combine microneedling with PRP in a treatment that actually stimulates the skin’s own natural healing and rejuvenation – making it one of the best skin treatments for dark skin and women of color.
Aerolase Laser For
Darker Skin Tones
Aerolase technology offers safe and painless treatment for tanned skin or darker skin types.
Older generations of laser treatments, such as Nd:YAG lasers, were both painful and potentially damaging when used on darker skin – often resulting in increased, uneven areas of pigmentation or discoloration in the treated areas.
But Aerolase has introduced new and advanced laser technology, with adjustable wavelengths that are appropriate for different skin tones. The result is procedures that are unmatched in both effectiveness and safety for skin of color.
We offer state-of-the-art Aerolase laser treatments for: skin tightening; skin resurfacing; pigmentation, lesion & scar reduction; and hair removal, on skin of all colors and tones.
